For simple fan, this involves wiring live wire black to black wire on fan unit and white wire neutral to white lead on fan. Attach ground copper wire to green ground screw on fan unit. Use wire nuts to secure wires together, and wrap with electrical tape.

Feed other end of wire through wall space to where switch for fan is located. Inside bathroom, attach other end of wire to fan switch. Attach white wire to neutral terminal and black to live terminal.

Attach ground wire to ground terminal on switch or to switch box itself, depending on your home’s existing wiring.
