Mount solar panels on your rooftop or other suitable location by using power drill and mount kits that came with panels. Solar panels should be mounted to face south and should be angled to match latitude of your location. In other words, if you live at latitude of 35 degrees, panels should be mounted 35 degrees from horizontal.
If your kit includes ability to change angle at which solar panels are mounted, you should add additional 15 degrees during winter times and subtract 15 degrees in summer, when sun rises higher in sky for longer amount of time. Solder electrical wiring to two output wires from solar panel. One wire should continue from negative terminal of solar panel’s output and other should continue from positive terminal.
Hold soldering iron beneath wire joint until joint is hot enough for solder, which is indicated by iron starting to move into joint. Apply soldering iron and solder to top part of joint. Add more of soldering wire to joint as it melts. Expose one inch on end of each wire by using wire stripper.
Twist wires together using lineman’s joint, which begins as X where middle of stripped ends cross. Twist first wire’s end along length of second wire until first wire’s end is completely wrapped around second wire. Repeat same process for second wire end so that it is wrapped around length of first wire.
finished joint should not be much thicker than original wire. Cover joint with solder until exposed wires are no longer visible. Wrap adhesive-lined heat-shrink tubing around joint and heat tubing with heat gun until it covers solder and tubing begins to bubble out from sides.
