Remove Gentian Violet Stains
There are several ways you can try to remove gentian violet stains.
Sponge gentian violet stain with water. Combine 1 cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of mild hand dishwashing detergent.
Add few drops of white vinegar and mix well – Dab detergent and vinegar solution on stain with clean sponge and let it set for at least 30 minutes. Moisten washcloth with solution and blot stain every 5 minutes.
Flush treated stain thoroughly with water – Dampen washcloth with rubbing alcohol and dab violet stain gently with it. Fold separate white washcloth into quarters and press it strongly against stain.
Do not rub or scrub – Fold now-stained spot out of way and press clean area to stain. Repeat until you’re not picking up any more of violet color with your cloth.
Flood stain with rubbing alcohol and allow it to dry – Sponge with water. Combine 1 cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of mild hand dishwashing detergent.
Add few drops of clear household ammonia – Dab ammonia solution onto stain with washcloth. Let it set for at least 30 minutes.
Moisten another white cloth with solution and blot stain every 5 minutes – Flush with water and allow to dry thoroughly. Combine 1 teaspoon of water with 1 teaspoon of household bleach.
Apply solution with eyedropper to any final traces of stain – Don’t let bleach stay in contact with fabric for more than 2 minutes. Flush well with water. Don’t use bleach solution on silk, wool or spandex.
Remove Gentian Violet from Hair
Gentian violet will fades with washes, keep washing your hair with shampoo as often as you can.
Use 50ml of citric acid and mix with 30ml of lemon juice and 30ml of vinegar. So, you can pour it over your hair carefully to avoid burns on ear.
Rinse and wash with anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner and dry.
Remove Gentian Violet from Skin or Hands
Use Vaseline or Lanolin Cream before applying gentian violet to prevent from absorbing your skin.
Remove the excess gentian violet from your hands or skin as soon as possible with paper towels to avoid soak into your skin.
Fulfill the cotton swab with small amount of isopropyl alcohol or vodka. Dab the stains from skin carefully.
Saturate the paper towel and rinse it to the skin to remove gentian violet as much as possible.
If the gentian violet stains remains in your skin, you may use baby wipes to remove it effectively.
Remove Gentian Violet from Clothes or Carpet
Apply dry cleaning fluid onto the gentian violet stain and let it remain for minimal five minutes.
Flush with plain water and use absorbent towel to soak the moisture up.
Use nail polish remover to dab the stains on a clean rag. And dab all of stain comes off continuously.
Mix 1 tea spoon of laundry detergent with a cup of water and wash the stain. You can rub the stain into the clothes or carpet with scrub brush, flush it with water and use a towel to dry it.
