Recharge Chrysler Concorde Air Conditioning Compressor

The Chrysler Concorde was manufactured with optional air conditioning system. This system uses freon refrigerant mixed with lubricant which is distributed with compressor. This mixture of freon can leak and require replacement, which can damage compressor when oil level is low.

average vehicle owner can replace lost backyard freon and lubricant in about 30 minutes. Freon can insert adapter plug valve, at bottom of valve. Turn clockwise until needle pricks in plug can and pressurizes valve.

Attach nozzle end of valve to low pressure side of freon lines, on left side of engine near evaporator. nozzle tip will only fit nipple that it attaches to. Push nozzle tip against nipple while simultaneously pulling ring around nozzle tip.

Release ring and it will lock onto line nipple. Start Concorde and turn on air conditioning system full blast. compressor will kick on, and system will begin to operate.

Pull trigger on valve to release freon into air conditioning system and compressor. can will empty in about three minutes. Remove nozzle tip by pulling ring off of nipple.

Turn empty can of freon counterclockwise and replace it with can of lubricant. Reattach it to nipple and discharge can of lubricant oil into system until it is emptied. Repeat step 4 until system does not take in any more freon.

Store unused portion of freon still attached to valve adapter.
