Turn air conditioner on to Max power at lowest temperature. Check pressure using auto air conditioning pressure gauge. pressure on Low Pressure Side should be between 25 and 45 psi.

If it is lower than this, you can safely add Freon. If it above 25 psi, you need to have it serviced before you add any refrigerant. Connect refill kit hose to Low Pressure Side service port according to manufacturer’s directions.

While it is possible to do direct charge, it is recommended that you use refill kit that uses either trigger release, push button release or valve release method.
