Determine measurements for fabric by adding twice depth to width of air conditioner for width of fabric. Add twice depth to height of unit for length of fabric. For example, if your air conditioner measures 20 inches wide, 15 inches high and 3 inches deep, add 6 to 20 inches, then add 6 to 15 inches, so you end up with 26 inches wide and 21 inches long.

Add 1 inch to width and 1 inch to length, so cover slides over front of unit with ease. In example, you’ll end up with 27 inches by 22 inches. Cut two pieces of fabric equal to measurements you computed in Step 2.

Also cut piece of insulated batting to same measurements. Layer fabric and batting so that batting is between two pieces of fabric, right sides facing out. Pin layers of fabric and batting together.

Sew fabric and batting layers together. Stitch one row of stitches across width of fabric, 1 inch from top edge. Stitch another row of stitches across width, 1 inch from first row of stitches.

Continue to sew rows of stitches across fabric until you are 1 inch from opposite end.
