Usually asymptomatic in its early stages, pancreatic cancer almost always develops in exocrine cells that produce digestive juices in pancreas. While medical treatment can pose problems, good news is there are many things you can do to help with home care of loved one who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Ask patient what room you would prefer to spend most of their time in, especially when you are approaching advanced stages of disease.

Their mobility is limited. Place bed or patient’s chair near window that allows view of nature. Decorate walls with pictures or photographs or inspiration pleasant.

Place books, stereo and or TV and VCR or DVD player within easy reach of patient’s bed or chair. Be informed. Have, at minimum, basic working understanding of medical mechanisms at work in pancreatic cancer and its prognosis.
