Twist two wires being joined together into X, wrapping first wire’s end along length of second wire until first wire’s end is completely wrapped around second wire. Repeat same process for second wire. Heat joint by holding soldering iron beneath wire joint.

Apply soldering iron and solder to top part of joint, adding more of soldering wire until joint is completely covered with solder and exposed wires are no longer visible. Wrap adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing around newly soldered joint, heating it tubing with heat gun until it covers solder. Connect ends of extended wiring coming from solar panels to charge controller, which has screw-on connections for input wires.

charge controller prevents deep-cycle batteries from becoming overloaded, thus reducing maintenance and cost of your solar power system. charge controller should also be stored adjacent to batteries. Wire deep-cycle batteries together so that they form circuit by using either parallel or series pattern.

Use 8-gauge wire to connect batteries. To connect batteries into series circuit, which doubles voltage of system, wire negative terminal of one battery to positive terminal of its adjacent battery. Continue this pattern until all terminals are connected.

To connect batteries into parallel circuit which doubles amperage of system connect positive terminal of one battery to positive terminal of its adjacent battery. Do same for negative terminals on your deep-cycle batteries as well.
